PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

The Mission of the Planning and Development Department is to promote orderly, compatible, and financially responsible growth within Moncks Corner and to protect and improve the quality of life and physical environment of the Town.  The Department's Goal is to effectively manage growth by implementing the principles and recommendations of the Comprehensive Plan and by implementing standards that result in quality, sustainable development.

Responsibilities of the Department include:

• Annexation and Growth Management Studies
• Land Use Studies and Policy Implementation
• Administration and Enforcement of the:

                        Zoning Ordinance

Land Development Regulations

Environmental Protection Codes

Tree Preservation Ordinance

• Special Studies
• Provide Staff Services to the:

Planning Commission

Board of Zoning Appeals
